Emails Highlight the late financier and Steve Bannon Ties

Bannon was one of the former president's key strategists before stepping down from the White House in 2017

In late 2018, Steve Bannon, formerly Donald Trump's chief strategist, was in the UK to deliver a speech at the Oxford Union.

The speech was interrupted by numerous protesters, and Bannon, who was due to board a flight that night, informed Jeffrey Epstein in an email: "Activists slowed down speech don't think I can make the plane we r enroute to the airport".

Epstein replied: "That. Is a gulf air that leaves at 950 with a stop in Bahrain". Bannon replied: "U r an excellent helper".

These messages were published on Wednesday together with over 20,000 documents from the records of Epstein, the deceased convicted sex offender.

The disclosure by the House oversight committee includes an text conversation where Bannon's name is redacted. Media outlets has been able to confirm his involvement by matching the timeline, events, and places referenced.

For example, Epstein discusses arranging a plane from the UK for the redacted user in the chat, and offers praise their "address at Oxford". Bannon took part in the Edinburgh conference on 14 November, and gave the speech at the Oxford two days later.

Bannon, who faces no allegations of any wrongdoing, declined to comment on the request for comment.

Epstein's Assurance to Bannon

Bannon was one of the president's key aides in the run up to the presidential election and in the early days of his first administration, but resigned from the administration in 2017.

He has acknowledged he was making a film about Epstein prior to his passing and reportedly has approximately 15 hours of recordings. In a live taping of his podcast earlier this year, he said: "We're going to publish the film, the five-part series, next year - early next year."

But the newly released documents suggest Bannon's connection with Epstein extended than being his biographer, with the convicted paedophile at times appearing to serve like a aide.

A short time before the conversation in which Epstein seemed to booked a private plane for Bannon, Epstein remarked: "what's it like to have the highest-paid booking agent in the world ".

Bannon thanked him: "You are pretty good assistant", to which Epstein replied "Therapies. Not Included".

Discussing a visit to "Abu Dhabi" in a separate text, Epstein told Bannon: "I will ensure you're well looked after."

British Affairs Mentioned in Exchanges

The released messages also show Bannon and Epstein talking about British political matters in that year.

Earlier on the day of his address at the Oxford Union, Bannon messaged Epstein: "I've gotten pulled into the Brexit issue this day with Nigel, Johnson and Mogg."

Then, in what seems like a allusion to Theresa May, the embattled UK prime minister at the period, he continued: "The guys are attempting to move on. may today / tomorrow…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "I think remaining as long as you can uk. Best-- so others get the dedication of your follow-up."

Soon after, Epstein asked: "Will Theresa May survive". Bannon replied: "I don't see how however the guys over here have little courage" and added "Johnson ; Michael Gove; Jacob Rees-Mogg; Davis - someone has to take charge".

Theresa May was eventually toppled in May 2019 after surviving two votes of lack of support in December 2018.

A representative for Reform UK told the BBC: "Nigel Farage has not been in a gathering with Steve Bannon, Jacob Rees Mogg and Boris Johnson." And there is nothing to suggest such a meeting occurred.

The US House of Representatives will decide soon on whether the justice department should release all its records related to its investigation into Epstein, who died in prison in that year.

Attention in Epstein's relationships with powerful figures was reignited recently after the release of over 20,000 documents from his estate.

A portion of those referenced the former president, who has repeatedly rejected any impropriety. The leader was a acquaintance of Epstein's for a long time, but claims they fell out in the early 2000s, two years prior to Epstein was initially charged.
