Nineteen of the Russian's 21 championships have been achieved on hard surfaces

A resurgent Medvedev won his maiden trophy for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition final.

The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid season, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in particular - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.

Presently collaborating with his coach and his other coach, he has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested three-set triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks his first title since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt since that period of that year.

Victory also indicates Medvedev has achieved twenty-one titles at twenty-one various competitions.

"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a trophy is particularly special," stated world number 14 Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my child Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his last six championship matches, featuring in Halle earlier this year.

The player's counter-punching play style and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had caused observers to question if his ability to perform at the top level was finished.

Yet the player has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and compete aggressively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.

The champion recovered from a break down in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, securing 4 of the concluding five points to take the lead.

The competitors swapped service breaks in the middle set before the challenger, striving for his initial ATP Tour title, took control to force a third set.

Moutet saved 4 early break points in a competitive final set before the Russian broke to fifteen to serve for the match.

Fittingly, he clinched victory with a shot at the net area, with Moutet unable to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
