In a bizarre collaboration that defies conventional predictions, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing free extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Uncovered
According to the authorized announcement, "A strange encounter leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where rumors of banned rituals and terrifying changes resonate through the darkness." The narrative presents a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a clandestine sect.
The questline concentrates on "strange trials and a fearsome enemy" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Metamorphoses
The trailer highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer concludes with a striking scene showing a character, probably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Items and Additional Material
Players who successfully complete the quest will obtain an exclusive katana alongside several objects concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Third Free Story Addition
This update also adds the game's newest no-cost story addition, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic skills: Naoe introduces a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
